Fernando "Lobo" Núñez is an Uruguayan percussionists of greater international recognition. As percussionist has played next to a long list of artists as: Rubén Rada, Osvaldo Fattoruso, Jaime Roos, Fito Paez, Jroge Drexler, Joan Manuel Serrat, Gilberto Gil, Emil Montgomery among another but. In 1982 I found "La Calenda" which has represented in diverse festivals and espectaculos the folcklore Afro-Uruguayan at national as international level. Luthier of the drums that carry the firm "The Power" and that they have been recognized in the world by their excellent quality, not alone they have been acquired for musicians besides they are found in museums for their exhibition. It has developed an educational task carrying out clinics, courses and seminars of Candombe in the University School of Music of Montevideo. Fernando "Lobo" Nuñez has carried out an important task of fight for the diffusion and recognition of the Candombe in an official way as an indigenous rhythm besides working for the recognition of the rights of the collective Afro in Montevideo.
